Donny Deutsch was filling in for Hoda Kotb on NBC’s Kathie Lee & Hoda show today. In their first segment, on midlife they posed the question, “Is the ‘Midlife Crisis’ over?” At 52, Donny says he’s the happiest he’s ever been. Kathie Lee said, “But you’ve had an opportunity for all your dreams to come true.” Good point. Donny is a rich, handsome celebrity doing what he loves (he’s the Chairman of Deutsch Inc. and former host of The Big Idea) and is in a happy relationship. So, at 52 he’s doing pretty well.

As Kathie wisely pointed out, “Not all of us in midlife have had our dreams realized yet.”

So, is this a wake-up call for us to get out there and start realizing and adventurizing? We may not have Donny’s money, but we can lead our own “rich” lives by finding our passion and stepping out of our comfort zone.

Maybe it’s time to put the “midlife crisis” out to pasture instead of ourselves!
